Bao Anh was born on 2/6/2021 as the second child in a certified poor family in Hoa Hai Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District, Da Nang City. Bao Anh’s parents worked manual jobs, however, both have been unemployed since the outbreak at the end of July 2020. Their incomes are not enough to cover the day-to-day necessities.

Bao Anh suffered the jaundice symptom after birth, with a diagnosis of the ventricular septal defect, a common congenital heart disease in children. Two weeks afterward, Bao Anh was admitted to the hospital as an emergency case induced by her severe condition of pulmonary hypertension and indicated for emergency surgery on July 19, 2021. The complicated Covid-19 pandemic, prolonged unemployment, and the burden of heart surgery costs have imposed a great burden on her parents.
A miracle happened to Bao Anh’s family when VinaCapital Foundation & Heartbeat Vietnam got to know Bao Anh’s story thanks to the nomination from the Social Work Department of the hospital. With funds raised from selling cookies at international schools through the Grace’s Cookies program, Bao Anh was supported with timely and successful surgery. Her successful operation brought overwhelming happiness to her parents, and Bao Anh has recovered well with a good health condition.
Bao Anh is the 115th child receiving support for heart operations through Grace’s Cookies program. With the aim of providing a chance to save the disadvantaged children’s lives with congenital heart defects, Grace’s Cookies team has been committed to spreading the meaningful message of the program and helping to build a better future for every child across Vietnam.
